What a Facebook account setup for ads includes

Every Facebook ad has a person behind it. Before Meta lets anyone create a Business Manager, add a payment method or spend money on ads, it looks at the personal profile doing it: how old it is, how it logs in, how complete it is and how it has behaved so far. That profile becomes the legal and technical owner of your advertising, so when it looks weak or unsafe, everything you build on top of it inherits the risk.

A Facebook account setup for ads is the work of getting that profile ready. It is not glamorous, and it is not about tricks. It is about making sure the account that will own your pages, ad accounts and pixels is secure, recoverable, complete and used in a normal way before it starts spending. In practice that means:

  • Security: two-factor authentication, a strong unique password managed by you, trusted recovery contacts and login alerts.
  • Recovery: a verified email and phone number that you control, so a lost phone or a hacked inbox does not lock you out of your ads.
  • Completeness: a real name, a clear profile photo and the basic details a genuine person would have, consistent with the business you will advertise.
  • Behaviour: a short, normal period of use before heavy advertising, so the account does not jump from silent to spending overnight.
  • Connection: the profile linked to your Business Manager with the right role, ready for the next steps.

We do this on your own real profile, in your name. If you do not have a profile yet, we guide you while you create one. We never create profiles for clients, use fake identities or sell accounts, and we explain why further down this page.

Why Meta treats new ad profiles carefully

Advertising is where money moves on Meta’s platforms, so it is also where most abuse happens: stolen cards, hacked accounts, scam ads and networks of fake profiles. To protect people from that, Meta’s systems look much more closely at accounts that start advertising than at accounts that only post photos. Its rules on authentic identity and account integrity are part of the Community Standards, and the advertising rules sit on top of them.

Nobody outside Meta knows exactly how these systems score an account, and anyone who claims to is guessing. What is clear from years of setting up accounts is which patterns tend to be trusted and which tend to be checked:

  • Profiles that are a few days old and immediately create a Business Manager, add a card and launch ads are reviewed far more often than profiles with a normal history.
  • Logins from many different devices, countries or shared tools in a short time look like account sharing or a takeover, even when the reason is innocent.
  • Empty or inconsistent profiles, with no photo, a name that does not match the payment card, or details that change often, are harder for Meta to trust.
  • Accounts without two-factor authentication are easier to hack, and hacked accounts are one of the most common reasons ad accounts get disabled.

None of these points is a rule you can look up, and none of them guarantees anything on its own. Together they explain why so many new advertisers lose their first ad account within days. They did nothing malicious; their setup simply looked like the setups Meta is trying to stop.

How we set up your account, step by step

The exact steps depend on the package and on the state of your profile when we start. This is the full process for a typical Standard setup.

1. A short review of where you are

We start with a few questions and, if needed, a short screen-share call. How old is the profile? Has it ever been restricted? Which devices and countries does it log in from? Who else has access to it? The answers decide what needs fixing first. If the profile has an active restriction, we stop here and tell you, because a restricted account needs a different kind of help.

2. Security and recovery

We walk you through turning on two-factor authentication, preferably with an authenticator app rather than text messages, and save the backup codes somewhere safe that only you control. We check that the email and phone number on the account are current and belong to you, remove old ones, set up login alerts and review which devices and apps are logged in. Anything you do not recognise gets removed.

3. Profile completion

Next we make sure the profile looks like what it is: a real person who runs or works for a real business. That means a clear photo of you, your real name matching how you will pay, and a few basic details. We do not invent anything and we do not ask you to share more than you are comfortable with. The goal is consistency, not a perfect-looking profile.

4. Login and device hygiene

Many restrictions start with innocent habits: logging in from a VPN, sharing a login with a freelancer, or using browser tools that automate actions. We look at how you and your team actually use the account and suggest simple changes, such as giving a freelancer their own access through Business Manager instead of your password.

5. A warm-up plan

For newer profiles, the Standard package includes a seven-day plan of normal activity before the first ad: using the profile from your usual device, following your own page, completing settings and taking care of the business details. It is deliberately boring. The point is that the account behaves like a person, not like a script.

6. Connecting to your Business Manager

Finally, the profile is connected to your Business Manager as an admin, with two-factor authentication required for everyone. If you do not have a Business Manager yet, that is the natural next step, and the handover guide explains how the two fit together.

What you get at the end: a written handover guide listing every setting we changed, where your backup codes are, who has access to what and what to check once a month. You stay the only owner of your account.

How a well set-up account protects your sales

It is tempting to treat account setup as admin work that comes before the real marketing. In practice it decides whether your marketing can run at all. Three examples from the kind of cases we see:

Lost time during a launch. A shop prepares a product launch, builds the ads and loses the ad account on day one because the profile behind it was created the same week. The ads, audiences and budget are ready, but nothing can run while the account is under review. The cost is not the setup fee; it is the launch window.

Learning that starts from zero. Meta’s delivery system gets better at finding buyers as your campaigns collect results. When an ad account is disabled and you start again, that history is gone. Each restart means paying again for the learning phase, which usually shows up as a higher cost per sale for the first weeks.

A single point of failure. When one personal profile owns everything and that profile gets hacked or locked, the business loses its pages, ad accounts and pixel data at the same time. A secure profile with a backup admin in Business Manager turns a disaster into an inconvenience.

A good setup does not make your ads better. It makes sure they can run, keep their history and stay in your hands, which is the foundation every other marketing decision depends on.

Pros and cons of a professional setup

You can do everything on this page yourself, and some people should. Here is an honest comparison.

ProsCons
Fewer early restrictions from avoidable setup mistakes. It costs money that you could save by learning the steps yourself.
Security and recovery are set up properly, not half-finished.It takes a few days, and the warm-up plan asks for patience before your first ad.
You get a written guide to your own setup for later. It cannot prevent restrictions caused later by ad content or payment problems.
Freelancers and team members get safe access instead of your password. You still need to keep good habits after the handover; the setup does not maintain itself.
A second pair of eyes catches problems you might not know to look for.If your profile is already restricted, this is not the right service to start with.

Who this service is for, and who it isn’t

A good fit

  • Business owners who are about to run Facebook ads for the first time and want to start on a solid base.
  • Small teams where several people need access to ads and nobody has set rules for how.
  • Agencies onboarding a client whose profile will own the Business Manager.
  • Anyone who lost an account before and wants the next setup done carefully.

Not the right fit

  • Profiles that are currently restricted or disabled. Start with our disabled ad account help, which looks at the cause first.
  • Anyone looking for extra, aged or “ready-made” profiles to advertise from. We do not provide them, and using them breaks Meta’s rules.
  • People who want ads run for them. We set up the foundation; running campaigns is a different job.

Mistakes that get new ad profiles restricted

These are the patterns we see most often in profiles that ran into trouble early. Avoiding them costs nothing.

  1. Spending on day one. Creating a profile, a Business Manager and an ad account and launching ads within hours.
  2. Sharing one login. Giving the same password to a designer, a freelancer and a virtual assistant, who all log in from different countries.
  3. Using a VPN or automation tools. Constantly changing locations or letting browser extensions act on the account.
  4. Mismatched details. A name, country or card that does not match the rest of the setup.
  5. No two-factor authentication. Leaving the account easy to hack, which is one of the most common routes to a disabled ad account.
  6. Creating accounts in a hurry after a restriction. Opening new profiles or ad accounts instead of understanding why the first one was stopped.

Ad content matters too. Even a perfectly set up profile can be restricted for ads that break Meta’s Advertising Standards, so it is worth checking your ad text before you publish. And once ads are running, reliable tracking through a properly installed Meta Pixel keeps your reporting honest.

How long it takes and what we need from you

Most Starter setups are finished within one working day of receiving your answers. Standard and Pro take two to three days, mainly because the warm-up plan and team access need a little time and some back and forth. If your profile is very new, we may suggest waiting a few extra days before your first ad; that advice is free and it often saves an ad account.

To start, we need four things from you:

  1. The name of the profile that will own your advertising, and whether anyone else uses it.
  2. A rough history: how old the profile is, and whether it, or any ad account it owned, has ever been restricted.
  3. The business you plan to advertise, with its website if you have one.
  4. Thirty minutes for a screen-share call, if your package includes one or if a step is easier to do together.

We never ask for your password, your two-factor codes or your backup codes. If anyone claiming to be from Adnestly asks for them, it is not us. Everything we need to do happens either through access you grant in Business Manager or on a call where you stay in control of your own screen.

What we will never do

Some services in this space sell aged accounts, rent out profiles or promise “unbannable” setups. We do not, for two reasons. First, using someone else’s identity or a fake profile to advertise breaks Meta’s rules and puts your business at real risk; when those accounts are found, everything connected to them can be lost. Second, it does not work for long, and our whole service is built on setups that still work next month.

So the line is simple. We work only on real profiles that belong to the person using them. We do not ask for passwords. We do not promise that an account can never be restricted, because nobody can. When a business is ready to grow further, the next steps are a clean Business Manager and, for higher limits and more trust, business verification. If you want to read Meta’s own explanation of the tools involved, the Business Help Center covers every setting we touch.

FAQ

Facebook Account Setup: common questions

Do you create a new Facebook account for me?

No. We prepare your own real profile, or help you create one in your name if you do not have one. We never create fake profiles or sell accounts, because they get restricted and break Meta’s rules.

Do you need my password?

No. We guide you through each step on a short screen-share call or with written instructions, and you stay logged in the whole time.

My account is brand new. Can I advertise straight away?

You can, but brand new profiles that spend immediately are restricted more often. The warm-up plan in the Standard package shows you how to use the account normally for a few days first.

What if my profile is already restricted?

Then this setup is not the right first step. Look at our Disabled Facebook Ad Account Help service, which starts by finding out why the restriction happened.

Will this stop my ad account from ever being disabled?

No setup can promise that. A secure, complete profile removes the most common early triggers, but ad content and payment issues can still cause problems later.

Can you set up profiles for my whole team?

Yes. The Pro package covers up to three people, each with the right role in your Business Manager.
