What Facebook business verification is

Business verification is how Meta confirms that the business behind a Business Manager really exists and is who it says it is. You submit your legal business name, address, phone number and website, then prove them with official documents and a confirmation step such as an email to your domain or a code sent to your business phone. When Meta accepts it, your Business Manager shows as verified.

It is easy to confuse with other kinds of verification, and many people pay for the wrong thing, so it helps to be precise. Business verification is free. It is done once, inside your Business Manager settings, and it is about your company, not about your page or your personal profile. It does not give your page a blue badge, and it is not the same as a paid subscription.

A verification service does not verify you; only Meta can do that. What we do is prepare everything Meta checks, so that the details, documents and website you submit tell one consistent story, and guide you through submitting it.

Business, domain and Meta Verified: what is the difference?

TypeWhat it provesCostWhere it shows
Business verificationYour legal business exists and matches the details in your Business Manager.FreeIn Business Manager settings; not public.
Domain verificationYou control the website domain linked to your business.FreeIn Business Manager; needed for some ad and tracking features.
Meta Verified (for business)A paid subscription with a badge and extra support, where available.Monthly feeA badge on your profile or page.

This service covers the first two. Domain verification is usually the quickest win: it is done with a DNS record, an HTML file or a meta tag, as described in Meta’s domain verification guide, and it is also part of a proper Pixel setup.

Why verification matters for your ads

You can advertise without business verification, and many small businesses do. Verification starts to matter as you grow:

  • Higher limits. New, unverified Business Managers are limited in how many ad accounts and other assets they can create. Verification is one of the signals that can lift those limits.
  • Access to features. Some tools, such as certain messaging and developer features, require a verified business before you can use them.
  • Trust and recovery. A verified business is a clearer owner of its assets. That helps when you need to prove ownership, recover access or explain your business during a review.
  • Fewer surprises. Meta sometimes asks a business to verify before it can continue advertising. Being ready, or already verified, avoids a sudden stop.

Verification is not a shield. A verified business can still have ads rejected or an account restricted if it breaks the rules. It simply removes doubt about who you are.

The best time to verify is before you need it. Businesses that start the process only after Meta has asked, or after an asset has been lost, are working against a deadline with documents they have not checked. Businesses that verify while everything is calm can take the time to fix a mismatched address or an outdated document, and submit once, properly.

Which documents usually work

Meta’s accepted documents vary by country and change over time, so we always check the current list for your country before you submit. These are the types that most often succeed, and the problems that most often sink them.

DocumentWorks well whenCommon problem
Business registration or incorporation certificateThe legal name matches exactly what you entered in Business Manager.A trading name in Business Manager, a different legal name on the certificate.
Tax registration documentIt shows the legal name and an address that matches.Old address after a move, or a personal tax number for a sole trader.
Utility bill or bank statementIt is recent, in the business name and shows the business address. In the owner’s personal name, or older than Meta accepts.
Business licenceIt is current and issued to the same legal entity.Expired, or issued to a parent company with a different name.

The rule behind all of these is consistency. The name, address, phone number and website you enter must match the documents and each other, character for character where possible. Most rejections we review are not about missing documents; they are about small mismatches between them.

A website checklist before you submit

Your website is often the first thing a reviewer looks at, and it is the part of a submission you control completely. Before submitting, check that your site:

  • Loads over HTTPS on the same domain you entered in Business Manager, without redirecting to another site.
  • Shows your business name clearly, ideally the legal name somewhere, such as the footer or the About page.
  • Has a contact page with the same address and phone number as your documents.
  • Has a privacy policy and, if you sell, terms and a refund policy that name your business.
  • Uses an email address on your own domain, which can also be used for the confirmation step.
  • Describes what you actually sell, with real products or services rather than placeholder text.

None of this is unusual; it is what any customer would expect from a real business. A site that is half-built or still shows template text is one of the most common reasons a reasonable application fails.

How we prepare your verification, step by step

1. Check eligibility first

We look at your country, business type and the documents you have, and tell you honestly whether verification looks likely. Some businesses, such as very new sole traders without registration, may struggle with the documents available to them. Better to know before you start.

2. Clean up your Business Manager details

We make sure the legal name, address, phone and website in your business settings match your documents exactly. If your Business Manager itself needs work, ownership or admin issues come first; that is covered by our Business Manager service.

3. Prepare your website

Meta often checks that your website looks like a real business: your business name, a contact page with matching details, a privacy policy and a working domain email. We list anything missing and, if needed, verify your domain.

4. Choose the confirmation method

Meta usually confirms by email to an address on your domain, by phone or by text message to a business number, or through domain verification. We help you choose the one that matches your documents best and make sure it is reachable.

5. Submit together

In the Standard and Pro packages we go through the submission with you, on a call or step by step in writing, so nothing is entered differently from what we prepared.

6. Respond to Meta

If Meta asks for more information or rejects the submission, we review what was flagged and prepare the next attempt. The Pro package includes this guidance for thirty days.

Never do this: do not edit, combine or create documents to make them match. Altered documents are easy to detect and can put the whole Business Manager at risk. If your documents do not match, the fix is to update your business details or obtain the right document, and we help you work out which.

Why verification gets rejected

  1. Name mismatch: the Business Manager uses a brand name while the documents show the legal company name.
  2. Address mismatch: a new office in Business Manager, the old address on the documents.
  3. Personal documents: a bill or statement in the owner’s name instead of the business’s.
  4. Website problems: no visible business name, no contact details or a domain that does not match the email used for confirmation.
  5. Unreadable files: cropped, blurred or partial scans.
  6. Unreachable confirmation: a phone number nobody answers or an email inbox that is not set up.

Almost all of these are fixable before you submit, which is why preparation matters more than the submission itself.

How verification supports your growth

Verification rarely changes your results overnight. Its value shows up when your advertising grows or something goes wrong. A business that wants to open more ad accounts for new markets, use messaging features at scale or bring in more partners is often held back by an unverified Business Manager. And a business that loses access to an asset, or faces a review, is in a much stronger position when Meta already knows exactly who it is dealing with.

For many of our clients, verification is the step that turns a setup that works into a setup that can grow. Combined with a secure owner profile from our Facebook account setup, it means the people and the business behind your ads are both clearly established.

Pros and cons of getting help

ProsCons
Mismatches are found before Meta finds them.Business verification itself is free; you pay only for preparation.
Honest assessment of your chances before you start.Meta decides, and some cases cannot be verified with the documents available.
Website and domain prepared at the same time. You may need to obtain an updated document, which takes time outside our control.
Guidance if Meta asks for more or rejects the first attempt.Meta’s review time varies from minutes to weeks.
Domain verification included, which also helps tracking. It does not prevent ad rejections or restrictions for other reasons.

Who this service is for

  • Businesses whose verification was rejected and who do not know why.
  • Businesses that Meta has asked to verify before they can continue.
  • Growing advertisers that need more ad accounts or access to verified-only features.
  • Owners who want everything prepared once, correctly, instead of trial and error.

It is not the right first step if your ad account is already disabled; that needs a cause review. And if your ads are not running yet at all, start with a correct ad account setup before worrying about verification.

What to do after you are verified

Verification is not the end of the work; it is a good moment to tidy up the rest. Once your business shows as verified:

  • Keep your details stable. Changing the legal name or address later can send the business back for review, so plan changes rather than making them casually.
  • Review admins and partners. Make sure only current people and agencies have access, each with two-factor login.
  • Keep your documents. Save the exact files you submitted, so you can use the same versions if Meta ever asks again.
  • Use the extra headroom carefully. Higher limits are useful, but opening many new ad accounts at once still looks unusual. Grow at the pace your business actually needs.

A short note of what you submitted, when, and which method confirmed it will save you time if anything about your business changes in the future.

What we can and cannot promise

We can promise careful preparation, a clear explanation of what Meta checks, and an honest opinion about your chances before you pay for more. We cannot promise that Meta will verify your business, how quickly it will respond, or that a rejected case can always be turned around. Anyone who guarantees verification is either guessing or suggesting something you should not do. If your case looks unlikely to succeed, we will tell you, and suggest what would need to change first.

How long it takes and what we need from you

Preparation usually takes two to five working days, depending on how much needs to change on your website and in your business details. Meta’s own review can take anything from minutes to several weeks. To start, we need:

  1. Your legal business name, address, phone number and website.
  2. Copies of the documents you have, which we only use to check consistency.
  3. Partner access to your Business Manager, or a call where you share your screen.
  4. Any rejection messages you have received, if this is not your first attempt.

Meta’s Business Help Center keeps the official list of accepted documents for each country, and it is worth reading alongside this page.

FAQ

Facebook Business Verification: common questions

Can you guarantee verification?

No. Meta decides, and some businesses cannot be verified with the documents they have. We tell you honestly before you pay if your case looks unlikely.

Which documents are accepted?

It depends on your country. Usually a business registration document, a utility bill or bank statement in the business name, and a matching website and phone number.

How long does Meta take?

Anything from a few minutes to several weeks. We prepare everything so the review is not delayed by mistakes on our side.

Is domain verification the same as business verification?

No. Domain verification proves you own your website. Business verification proves your business exists. We handle both.

My verification was rejected. Can you help?

Yes. The Pro package starts by reviewing the rejection and what needs to change before you submit again.

Do I need verification to run ads?

Not always, but it unlocks higher limits and some features, and it makes your Business Manager harder to lose.
